Privacy policy
LinkSure AI helps you review links and scholarly references in AI-generated answers. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking identifiers or LinkSure backend.
What the extension reads
On supported ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini pages, LinkSure AI reads assistant-answer structure, link destinations and likely scholarly-reference text so it can present source-review controls. User-authored messages are positively excluded.
Conversation text and page HTML are not stored. LinkSure AI does not read browser history, passwords, authentication data, payment information or files.
Link reachability checks
When a link is checked, Chrome sends that URL directly to its destination. Requests omit cookies and credentials, carry no request body, suppress the referrer and bypass the browser cache. LinkSure AI does not read response bodies.
The extension records only bounded technical results such as response status, final destination, check time and an error category. A responding link is not treated as proof of accuracy, safety or factual support.
Optional scholarly lookup
Scholarly lookup is off by default. If you turn it on, LinkSure AI may send parsed citation fields—title, author surnames, publication year, venue and identifiers—to Crossref, DataCite and OpenAlex. Full conversations, surrounding prose, page HTML and user-authored messages are never sent.
These services are independent third parties and may log requests under their own policies. Their metadata responses are treated as data and never executed as code. A match identifies a possible publication; it does not establish what the publication proves. No match is never labelled fake.
Local storage and retention
Chrome local storage holds the install record, four settings, a link-result cache capped at 500 entries, and a scholarly-result cache capped at 200 entries. Link results expire after 2 to 30 minutes depending on outcome. Scholarly results expire after 5 minutes to 7 days depending on outcome.
Use Clear cache in the extension popup to delete cached link and citation results. Turning scholarly lookup off cancels pending lookups. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage.
Data sharing and commercial use
LinkSure AI does not sell data. It does not use data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to source review. Transfers are limited to the destination being checked and the optional scholarly services needed for the feature you enabled.
Security and children
Private, local, credential-bearing and invalid destinations are blocked before a request. All executable code ships with the extension; no remote code is loaded. LinkSure AI is not directed at children.
